For many years we have seen the flight of manufacturing from the core of our cities.   For many reasons a company that manufacturers a product in the middle of a city seems like a poor choice–or is it?   In Vancouver we have taken nearly all the industrial land and developed it into high rises. Now there are complaints about people living on the street,  drugs and a loss of tax base.    The Strathcona area of Vancouver recently explored the idea of a sustainable district on the downtown east side.   Maybe it is time to entertain the idea that we can manufactur in the middle of Vancouver again?
